Job Title: Sub Agent - Major Infrastructure / Ground Investigation

Location: Inveraray

Assignment Duration: Contract (Late September Start)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent / Ground Investigation Specialist with over 25 years of UK infrastructure experience to lead and coordinate multi-front site operations.

In this role, you will oversee complex Ground Investigation (GI) activities, manage on-site logistics, drive contractor and subcontractor delivery, and enforce strict CDM 2015 compliance and Health & Safety standards across major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Site Operations & Management: Act as Site Agent / Client Representative, managing daily site logistics, subcontractor activities, and multi-front GI teams.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce safe systems of work, prepare and verify RAMS, issue Permits to Dig, deliver inductions/toolbox talks, and uphold CDM 2015 standards.
Technical Supervision: Oversee rotary drilling, cable percussion, CPT rigs, dynamic sampling, packer testing, and trial pitting.
QA/QC & Reporting: Ensure all logging (BS5930), sampling, testing, and factual reporting meet client specifications and technical assurance guidelines.
Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate closely with Principal Contractors, Principal Designers, clients, and landowners to maintain project schedules and delivery targets.

First Aid at Work (3-Day)
CAT & Genny
Highway Passport
Asbestos AwarenessEducation: Degree in Engineering Geology, Geophysics, or Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.

Experience:

Proven track record in a Sub Agent, Site Agent, or Senior GI Lead role on UK mega-projects (e.g., HS2, Lower Thames Crossing, East West Rail, A66, Heathrow Expansion).
Comprehensive expertise in soil/rock logging, rig management, and environmental/geotechnical site investigations.

Commercial Details

Pay Rate: £500 per day (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)
Start Date: Late September
Right to Work: Full UK Right to Work required
