Job Opportunity: Freelance Sub Agent for Civil Engineering Projects
Job Overview
Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Sub Agent for a long-term freelance position based in Tarbert. This role focuses on water or marine projects and offers a potential extension beyond the initial 4-month period. Accommodation is provided due to the project’s location.
Responsibilities
As a Sub Agent, your key duties will include:
Site supervision and conducting inductions.
Daily briefings with operatives and subcontractors.
Ensuring compliance with client specifications.
Assisting in the procurement of materials.
Producing detailed Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and reviewing subcontractor RAMS.
Maintaining safety standards and targets.
Monitoring subcontractor progress against site schedules.
Ordering site materials and plant equipment.
Managing documents and drawings using in-house systems.
What You Can Expect
Duration: Minimum of 4 months with potential for extension.
Start Date: 13th November.
Working Hours:
Monday: 08:00 – 19:00
Tuesday – Thursday: 07:00 – 19:00
Friday: 07:00 – 15:00
Weekend work may be required on a rotational basis (Saturday/Sunday: 07:00 – 17:30).
Accommodation: Provided.
Rate: £30 to £35 per hour (Gross), dependent on experience.
Payment Methods: PAYE or CIS.
Requirements
Proven experience in civil engineering projects, particularly in water or marine sectors.
Marine experience is highly desirable.
Valid full UK driving licence and personal transport.
Essential certifications: CSCS Card and SMSTS.
First Aid certification.
Desirable: Appointed Person/Lift Supervisor qualification.
