Sub Agent - Civil Engineering
Peterborough
£375 per day CIS
10-Month Contract
We are recruiting for an experienced Sub Agent to join a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor on a major infrastructure project in the Peterborough area. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a long-term contract on a high-profile scheme, taking responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of key sections of work.
The successful candidate will have a strong background delivering civil engineering projects, with structures or bridge experience highly desirable. You will be responsible for coordinating site activities, managing subcontractors, maintaining programme, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are achieved.

The Role

Manage the day-to-day delivery of a section of works on site.
Coordinate site teams and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, on programme and to specification.
Assist with short-term planning, work sequencing and look-ahead programmes.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
Review and implement method statements, risk assessments and permit systems.
Oversee quality assurance processes, including inspections, ITPs, NCRs and handover documentation.
Monitor progress, productivity and resource levels, reporting to the Site Agent.
Support the management and coordination of temporary works.
Interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
Build strong working relationships with the client, engineers, supply chain and wider project team.
Proactively identify and resolve site issues to minimise delays and maintain programme.

Requirements

Previous experience working as a Sub Agent on civil engineering projects.
Structures or bridge experience is preferred.
Good understanding of temporary works.
Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts.
Strong knowledge of quality management, including inspections, ITPs, NCRs and project handover.
Experience monitoring programme, productivity and daily site performance.
Excellent understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
