With campuses across the UK, Ireland, and Germany, we offer a diverse range of courses in modern music, performing arts, filmmaking and creative technology. Our commitment to excellence in creative arts education sets us apart, providing students with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities they need to succeed in their chosen fields.

About the Role

As a Student Support Advisor, you’ll provide frontline pastoral and wellbeing support to students navigating a range of personal and practical challenges. Working within a centrally coordinated, digital-first service, you’ll play a key role in ensuring students feel heard, supported and guided to the right help at the right time.

You’ll manage a varied caseload, offering structured support through assessment, triage and one-to-one sessions, while working closely with colleagues across the University and external services to deliver a consistent and compassionate student experience.

What You’ll Do:

Provide empathetic, trauma-informed support to students experiencing wellbeing, mental health or practical challenges.
Manage a caseload, delivering one-to-one support sessions both online and in person.
Carry out assessment and triage, identifying appropriate support and next steps.
Maintain accurate, confidential case records using digital systems such as TargetConnect.
Respond to student enquiries and contribute to drop-in sessions.
Refer students to internal or external specialist services as needed.
Escalate safeguarding concerns in line with procedures and use sound judgement in managing risk.
Work collaboratively with academic teams and external partners to support student outcomes.
Contribute to workshops, initiatives and wider activities that promote wellbeing and inclusion.

What You’ll Bring:

Experience supporting young adults, with an understanding of the challenges they may face.
The ability to provide supportive, non-judgemental and inclusive pastoral care.
Strong communication skills and confidence handling sensitive situations.
Good organisational skills, with a focus on accurate record-keeping.
Confidence working with digital systems in a case management environment.
The ability to manage your workload, use initiative and recognise when to escalate concerns.
Emotional resilience and a calm, professional approach in a busy setting.
A commitment to equality, inclusion and a positive student experience.
