Student Administration Assistant

£14 per hour

Temporary - currently until end of year, but potential for permanent opportunities

Monday - Friday - 8am - 16:00pm / 08:30am - 16:30pm / 9:15am - 17:15pm

Based in central London, fully office based (walking distance from Euston Station)

We're looking for a confident, organised and people-focused individual to join a busy and supportive education team during one of their busiest periods of the year.

Why this role?

This role plays a key part in supporting students as they begin their apprenticeship journey, helping to create a positive and professional experience from day one. You'll be welcoming students, coordinating assessments, answering queries and providing essential administrative support to ensure everything runs smoothly.

You will be working across two centres, both located near Euston Station. On busier days, the centres welcome over 400 students, with up to 60 students sitting exams at any one time, therefore it's essential that you are comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Acting as a welcoming first point of contact at reception for students, staff and visitors
Managing phone and email enquiries promptly and professionally
Processing course and room bookings accurately
Maintaining clean and well-stocked communal spaces, including refreshments, supplies and general presentation
Monitoring the day-to-day operations of the facility including reporting/resolving health and safety issues, repairs, security and cleaning issues
Supporting the delivery team with classroom setup, including light manual handling
Opening up and locking up the buildings, including keyholder responsibilities
Preparing examination rooms and computer equipment for computer-based assessments, ensuring systems are tested and ready for use
Invigilating exams and ensuring the correct procedures are followed and escalate any concerns appropriately
Verifying candidate identification, managing exam admissions and providing examination instructionsWhat we're looking for:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Friendly, professional, and confident when interacting with customers
Reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive in spotting and solving issues
Able to multi-task and comfortable managing competing priorities in a busy environment
Must be comfortable with physical tasks as part of daily responsibilities
