We are recruiting on behalf of a client who is looking for an experienced Structural Project Engineer based in Newcastle. As a Project Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the planning, analysis, and design of building structures. You will work on a variety of projects, collaborating with architects, clients, and other professionals to ensure the successful execution of structural engineering solutions. You will also support the existing management team to help develop new and existing clients.

The role will involve developing your own skills to meet the needs and demands of clients and business goals. Each office works closely together assisting on projects where required and each engineer has a number of projects and clients at any one time to manage. You will be expected to support Principal engineers, Associates and Directors across the group.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate good fundamental knowledge and understanding within the application and principles of structural engineering design.

Essential Experience for this Structural Project Engineer role

• Minimum three years' experience within Structural design including steelwork, reinforced concrete and masonry construction to Euro Code standards

• HNC in Civil or Structural Engineering

• Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools

• Design using Eurocodes and relevant British Standards to produce structural solutions using materials such as steel, concrete, timber, and masonry

• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for construction

• Collaborate closely with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met

• Ensure compliance with current building regulations and other industry standards

• Monitor construction progress and provide technical support to resolve structural issues

• Maintain accurate project documentation, calculations and records

• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in structural engineering

• Commercial awareness of costing, budgets and quotations

• Site visits to verify construction complies with construction drawings Desirable

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil or Structural Engineering

• Understanding of STAAD.Pro, SCIA and Revit

• Willing to work towards or nearing Chartered Status
