Structural Engineer
Oxford
Up to £40k DOE plus benefits
Our client is looking for a talented Structural Engineer to join its Oxford team, offering the chance to work on a varied portfolio of projects, develop technical expertise and play a key role in delivering innovative, buildable engineering solutions.
Working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary design teams, you'll be involved in projects from initial concept through to completion, balancing technical excellence with practical, cost-effective design. The role also offers opportunities to get involved in client liaison, structural inspections and business development.
You'll develop coordinated structural designs across a range of sectors, including new-build developments, refurbishments and alterations. Responsibilities will include preparing structural calculations, undertaking building surveys, producing technical reports and supporting fee proposals and bids. Building strong client relationships and contributing to repeat business will also be an important part of the role.
The successful candidate will hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and be working towards chartership with ICE or IStructE. Experience across different project types and structural materials, including steel, concrete, timber and masonry, is essential, alongside a sound understanding of relevant design standards and regulations.
Familiarity with BIM and 3D design software such as Revit is desirable. Strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to produce accurate calculations, clear sketches and well-written structural survey reports are also important.
Due to the nature of the projects undertaken, candidates must hold active UK Security Check (SC) clearance or be eligible to obtain it. Candidates must have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years.
