We are recruiting on behalf of a successful, employee-owned company for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and technically strong engineer looking to take the lead on a variety of challenging projects across multiple sectors, while playing a key role in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the continued success of the business.

Shift: 9am-5pm Mon-Fri, Flexible working hours

Act as the technical lead on projects of varying size and complexity
Prepare structural design calculations, drawings, specifications and reports
Coordinate designs with technicians and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Attend client meetings and undertake structural surveys
Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors and other stakeholders throughout project delivery
Review and check engineering designs, calculations and drawings
Supervise and mentor Graduate Engineers within the team
Assist with commercial and project management activities
Ensure compliance with current design standards and regulationsKnowledge, Skills & Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Chartered Engineer status (MICE/MIStructE) or nearing Chartership
Minimum 5 years' post-graduate experience within a structural engineering background
Experience designing steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber structures
Good knowledge of Eurocodes and UK design standards
Proficiency with Tekla Structural Designer and TEDDS
Good understanding of CDM Regulations 2015
