I’m currently working with a well-established structural engineering consultancy based in St Albans, who are looking to add a Structural Design Engineer to their growing team. With a strong reputation for delivering a comprehensive range of structural engineering services, the business works with both public and private sector clients across Hertfordshire, London, the Home Counties and nationwide.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a consultancy offering exposure to a diverse range of projects, from residential extensions and loft conversions through to complex structural schemes, commercial developments and specialist engineering assessments.

The business delivers a broad spectrum of structural engineering services, including:

Structural scheme design and structural assessments

Foundations, including traditional, reinforced and piled solutions

Extensions, alterations and loft transformations

Steelwork, timber, loadbearing masonry and concrete structures

Steel and concrete frames, composite structures and basements

Retaining walls, contiguous walls and sheet-piled walls

Temporary works and remedial engineering schemes

Desktop studies, pre-purchase appraisals and defect reports

Expert witness reports and structural investigations

You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to projects at various stages, applying your technical knowledge to practical design challenges while developing your experience across a wide range of structural forms and construction methods.

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to speak with Structural Design Engineers who have a solid grounding in structural engineering principles and a genuine interest in delivering well-considered, buildable design solutions.

You’ll ideally have experience in areas such as structural calculations, design development and producing solutions across a range of materials, including steel, concrete, timber and masonry.

Whether you’re looking to build on your existing consultancy experience or take the next step in your structural engineering career, this could be an excellent opportunity to explore.

Gain exposure to a broad range of sectors, structures and engineering challenges.

Work on projects spanning residential, commercial and specialist structural engineering.

Develop your technical expertise within a business serving clients across London, Hertfordshire and beyond.
