My client is a leading Property Consultancy who is looking for Graduates through to Planner level to join the team in the Manchester office. My client has offices throughout the UK and work on a variety of sectors such as retail, healthcare, residential, automotive and commercial

Job Purpose:

Identification of strategic land opportunities
Negotiation of strategic land Options and Promotion Agreements.
Managing the promotion of strategic land sites through the planning process.
Purchase of strategic land siteKey responsibilities:

Managing the promotion of a portfolio of strategic land sites with limited supervision. Includes setting budgets, appointing and managing consultants, presenting to/negotiating with planning officers and others, representing the company's interests in joint promotions with other developers. Requires high degree of multi-tasking, time management and prioritisation. Requires understanding of commercial implications of planning policies/planning decisions/master planning layout etc.

Negotiation and acquisition of new strategic site options and promotion agreements with limited supervision. Requires good interpersonal skills to gain the confidence and trust of landowners. Also requires a good understanding of basic contract/property law.

Identification and appraisal of potential new strategic sites. Requires good understanding and knowledge of planning policy and guidance and political systems for the allocation of new housing land. Ability to analyse and understand planning policies and procedures, and political priorities within particular district councils.

Requirements:

Professionally qualified (RTPI or RICS)
Minimum 5 years relevant post-qualification experience
