The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Storeman to join a busy and well-organised warehouse operation.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous warehouse, stores or engineering environment experience, who is confident managing stock, preparing equipment for dispatch and operating a forklift safely.
You will play an important role in keeping the stores and warehouse running efficiently, ensuring parts and equipment are correctly received, stored, prepared and dispatched.
Key Responsibilities

Receive, inspect and process incoming deliveries and supplier shipments.
Pick and prepare spare parts, pumps, motors and equipment for workshop and customer orders.
Pack and prepare equipment safely for transportation.
Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular stocktakes and cycle counts.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages or low-stock items.
Keep warehouse shelves clean, organised, correctly labelled and fully stocked.
Rotate stock to ensure older items are used first.
Complete dispatch paperwork, waybills and relevant documentation accurately.
Operate forklift equipment safely and responsibly.
Carry out daily forklift and warehouse safety checks and report defects or hazards.
Carry out basic forklift checks, including oil, water and battery levels.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised warehouse environment.
Carry out basic preparation tasks such as lubricating, spray-painting and packaging equipment when required.
Support colleagues during busy periods and assist with general warehouse duties as required. About You
The successful Storeman will ideally have:

Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or stock control role.
Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing, mechanical or industrial environment would be advantageous.
A valid forklift licence and practical forklift experience.
Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate stock records.
A reliable, organised and hands-on approach to work.
Good understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements.
Ability to work independently while also supporting the wider team.
A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved with a variety of warehouse and stores duties. What We Offer
