Description:
We are looking for an experienced retail manager to lead a busy garden centre in the Wellingborough and Bedford area. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a successful store, develop a talented team and use your commercial judgement to increase sales, uphold standards and build customer loyalty.

Known for value, quality and an evolving product range, the business gives its Store Managers the freedom to shape local trading while maintaining consistently high operational standards.
The role
* Take full responsibility for the garden centre’s daily performance, including sales, profit, costs and key performance indicators.
* Lead, coach and develop a motivated, high-performing team.
* Deliver an excellent customer experience.
* Maintain excellent standards in merchandising, stock availability and plant care.
* Plan and deliver seasonal campaigns, promotions and local initiatives to increase sales and footfall.
* Build strong community relationships and identify new commercial opportunities.
* Lead visibly and take a practical, hands-on approach.
About you
* Proven experience as a Store Manager, Garden Centre Manager or senior retail leader in a fast-paced environment.
* Commercially minded, with a strong record of improving sales, service and operational performance.
* A confident leader who can engage, organise and inspire a diverse team.
* Excellent customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.
* Strong visual merchandising, stock control and store operations standards.
* A flexible, energetic approach and a willingness to support the team on the shop floor.
* Garden centre or horticultural knowledge is desirable, but strong retail leadership experience is essential.
