Description:
Stockyard Team Leader
* Hours: Rotating Days (6am - 2pm) and Afters (2pm-10pm)
* Salary: £33,000
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities of the Stockyard Team Leader:
* Plan and organise daily activities including structuring the team’s individual responsibilities (taking into account holidays and absence)
* Ensure completion of tasks and ensure good performance whilst motivating and coaching the team
* Operate all MHE within the stock yard
* Manage and undertake the loading and unloading of customer and supplier vehicles
* Ensure all customer deliveries (loads) are accurately compiled & checked against the order
* Undertake quality inspections, cycle counts and PI counts as directed by the Yard Manager
* Undertake the investigation of stock discrepancies and / or damages
* Deputise in the absence of the Yard Manager
* Ensure product stored within the stock yard complies fully with health & safety & 5S principles
The ideal person for the role of Stockyard Team Leader:
* Great communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to deal with arising issues and solving them in an appropriate and timely manner
* Ability to work flexibly, with the needs of the business
* A good level of education
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience of managing a team
* Full working knowledge of all aspects of the logistics process
* Working knowledge of manpower system
* Leadership and Management qualification
* Experience in dealing with broad HR issues
* ILM accreditation or willing to work towards it
