Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Stock Team Supervisor to join a busy distribution operation in the Plymouth area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Stock Controller, Inventory Team Leader, Stock Supervisor or Warehouse Supervisor looking to develop their leadership career while specialising in stock management.

You'll oversee inventory activities, lead a stock control team and work closely with operational teams to maintain stock accuracy, improve inventory processes and support the smooth running of the operation.

Key Duties

Supervise stock control activities to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and product availability.
Lead and develop a team responsible for stock investigations, counting processes and inventory administration.
Conduct and oversee regular stock checks, cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
Investigate stock variances and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy and reduce losses.
Monitor stock movements and ensure effective management of date-sensitive products.
Produce and maintain accurate stock records, reports and system updates.
Work closely with warehouse and operational teams to improve efficiency and service performance.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to strengthen stock management processes.

Requirements

Essential:

Previous experience within stock control, inventory management, warehousing or logistics.
Experience leading, supervising or coordinating teams within an operational environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
Experience working with warehouse management systems and stock reporting processes.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and work within a busy environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.Desirable:

Experience managing cycle count or perpetual inventory programmes.
Knowledge of stock loss reduction strategies and inventory control best practice.
Experience within a distribution, logistics or FMCG environment.
Understanding of quality standards, audits and operational compliance requirements.
