Stock Condition Surveyor

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Stock Condition Surveyor to support the delivery of a comprehensive housing stock condition programme. You will carry out and oversee property surveys, assess the condition of housing assets, and ensure accurate data is maintained to support long-term investment planning, regulatory compliance, and planned maintenance programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Undertake stock condition surveys across residential properties and associated assets.

* Assess the condition of building components, estimate lifecycle costs and identify required repairs.

* Maintain accurate survey data, photographs and records within the asset management system.

* Carry out HHSRS assessments and identify health and safety risks, including damp and mould, fire safety, asbestos, gas and legionella.

* Produce detailed survey reports and provide recommendations for planned maintenance and capital investment programmes.

* Monitor survey quality and validate data to ensure accuracy and consistency.

* Liaise with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to support survey delivery and asset planning.

* Contribute to improving asset data quality and supporting long-term investment strategies.

* Provide technical advice and support to colleagues on stock condition and asset data.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

* Experience carrying out stock condition or building surveys within social housing or residential property.

* Strong knowledge of building construction, property defects and housing asset management.

* Understanding of HHSRS and housing health and safety compliance.

* Experience using asset management systems and maintaining accurate property data.

* Excellent report writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

* Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

* Qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Asset Management or a related discipline.

* Experience with planned maintenance programmes and capital investment planning.

* Knowledge of data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI or SQL.

* Understanding of housing legislation and regulatory compliance
