Make every pound count for children and families.

At Spurgeons, we believe every child and young person deserves the chance to thrive. Our services support children, young people and families when they need it most, including counselling, family support, and support for families affected by imprisonment.

Behind all of this is a finance team that cares about the people our money serves. We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join us on a 6 month fixed-term contract and help make sure every pound creates better outcomes for the families we support.

Why you'll love this role

Your work has real purpose. Your insight helps our frontline teams make confident decisions, get the most from their funding and keep vital services running.

You'll join a great finance team. We're friendly, supportive and collaborative, and we bring out the best in each other. You'll work closely with our Head of Finance, and your ideas for improvement will be welcomed and acted on.

You'll work from home. You'll come together with the team about once a month, usually in London, for team and service meetings. You'll also visit services in person at least once a quarter.

You'll have variety and influence. You'll partner with four areas: Fundraising & Marketing, Counselling, Family Support and Prison Services. Each brings its own challenges, people and impact.

What you'll be doing

Act as the trusted finance partner and strategic adviser for your services, offering clear insight, constructive challenge and support

Help budget holders with monthly forecasting, variance analysis and financial modelling

Produce clear, insightful monthly management accounts packs and help redesign them

Support our Fundraising team by building financial models for bids and tenders, costing trust and foundation applications, and tracking restricted funding

Create dashboards and data visualisations that make financial information easy to understand

Support the Head of Finance with budgeting, policies and wider finance projects

What you'll bring

AAT qualified (part-qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA is a bonus)

Experience in financial business partnering, including explaining finance clearly to people who aren't finance specialists

Strong management accounts, reporting and double-entry bookkeeping skills

Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with an organised, accurate approach

Charity or fundraising finance experience would be great, but isn't essential

Ready to make a difference?

If you want your finance skills to change lives and you'd like to join a team that values you, we'd love to hear from you.
