Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sports Teaching Assistant to join a team of hardworking and forward-thinking educators. You will be working closely with a lower Key Stage 3 class of boys with SEMH needs. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in sports and physical education (PE) and be able to inspire and motivate our students through engaging sports activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons across the Key Stage 3 curriculum, including sports and PE sessions, tailored to the needs of students with SEMH.
Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students during sports activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized education plans for students with SEMH needs, incorporating sports and physical activities as part of their learning experience.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported in their personal and academic growth.
Support the integration of sports and physical activities into the wider curriculum, promoting the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle.
Sports Teaching Assistant Requirements:
Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a school or educational setting.
A genuine passion for sports and physical education, with the ability to engage and inspire students through sports activities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
Relevant qualifications or training in sports coaching or physical education (desirable but not essential).
A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude, with a commitment to supporting the holistic development of students with SEMH needs.
