Description:
AK Teaching is seeking an energetic and dedicated Sports Coach with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant at a SEN school located in Morpeth, Northumberland. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals with a background in sports coaching to contribute to the academic and personal development of students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in facilitating general classroom activities and providing support to students with SEN.
* Utilise sports coaching skills and techniques to engage students and promote physical activity and well-being.
* Collaborate with teaching staff to create inclusive learning environments tailored to individual student needs.
* Support students with a range of special educational needs and challenging behaviours, including autism and ADHD.
* Offer 1:1 support to students as needed, addressing specific learning goals and objectives.
* Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to enhance the overall learning experience.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with learners with autism, ADHD, and other special educational needs is advantageous.
* Possess a fully enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and needs.
* Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to supporting students' academic and personal development.
* Flexible approach to work and willingness to assist with various classroom tasks beyond sports coaching duties.
