Sports Coach - Behaviour & Youth Mentor
Full-Time & Long-Term Opportunities | Aspire People
Aspire People are recruiting Sports Coaches to support children and young people across primary and secondary schools.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Sports Coach, Football Coach, PE Coach or Youth Worker who wants to use sport as a way of building positive relationships, improving behaviour and helping young people develop confidence and resilience.
You do not need to have worked as a Teaching Assistant previously. We are interested in candidates with strong experience working with children and young people through sport, coaching, mentoring or youth work.
The Role:
* Using sport and physical activity to engage pupils
* Supporting pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs
* Building positive relationships and acting as a positive role model
* Delivering sports and physical activity sessions
* Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring
* Supporting pupils with confidence, resilience and teamwork
* Helping pupils develop positive attitudes towards school and learning
* Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
* Working alongside teachers and pastoral teams
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience as a Sports Coach, Football Coach, PE Coach, Youth Worker or similar
* Professional experience working with children or young people
* Confident managing groups and challenging behaviour
* Passionate about sport and youth development
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Patient, energetic and resilient approach
* Able to use sport to engage pupils who may struggle in a traditional classroom
