Description:

Smile Education are recruiting for a Speech and Language Therapist to work within a specialist education setting in Oldham.
The role is suitable for a qualified SLT, newly qualified therapist or soon-to-be qualified Speech and Language Therapy graduate looking to work with children and young people with SEND.
The Role
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will support pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs, Autism, SEMH, ADHD and wider communication barriers.
You will work closely with teachers, SEND teams, families and external professionals, delivering assessments, one-to-one and small-group interventions and contributing to EHCP targets and progress reviews.
Key Responsibilities

Assess pupils’ speech, language and communication needs.
Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions.
Support pupils with SLCN, Autism, SEMH, ADHD and wider SEND.
Develop and review communication targets and therapy programmes.
Contribute to EHCP targets, annual reviews and progress meetings.
Provide communication strategies for teaching and support staff.
Work closely with SENDCos, teachers, families and external professionals.
Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records.
Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.Requirements

You must hold, or be working towards, a recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
HCPC registration is required for qualified Speech and Language Therapists.
Newly qualified therapists and final-year Speech and Language Therapy students may be considered.
RCSLT membership is desirable.
Experience supporting children or young people with speech, language and communication needs is required.
Knowledge of SEND, Autism, SEMH, EHCPs and communication interventions is desirable.
School, SEND, specialist provision or alternative provision experience would be advantageous.
You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
You must have the right to work in the UK.Pay and Benefits

£110–£130 per day, dependent on experience.
