Speech and Language Therapist (School-Based Placements)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to work across a range of school-based placements in Northamptonshire from the next academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within educational settings, supporting children and young people with a wide range of speech, language, and communication needs. Placements will be based in mainstream schools, specialist provisions, and SEN settings depending on experience and preference.

As a Speech and Language Therapist working through Tradewind Recruitment, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome communication barriers and reach their full potential both academically and socially. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other professionals to deliver targeted interventions and contribute to whole-school strategies supporting communication development.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, diagnose and provide tailored intervention for pupils with speech, language and communication needs
Develop and implement individual therapy plans
Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions within school settings
Support staff with strategies to enhance communication in the classroom
Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and annual reviews
Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals
Maintain accurate records and monitor pupil progress

About You

We are looking for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist who is:

HCPC registered
Experienced working with children and young people (desirable but not essential for newly qualified therapists)
Confident working across a variety of educational settings
Passionate about supporting pupils with SEN, particularly communication and interaction needs
Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Flexible, proactive and committed to improving outcomes for learners
