Location: Maldon 

Salary: £100 - £230 per day 

Start Date: Immediately 

Contract Type: Full-time 

Are you a dedicated Speech and Language Specialist looking to make a difference in the lives of children? Do you have a passion for helping students overcome communication challenges and reach their full potential? Our schools in Maldon are seeking an experienced and compassionate Speech and Language Specialist to join our team immediately.

About the Role:

As a Speech and Language Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN). You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to assess students' needs, develop individualized intervention plans, and provide targeted support to help them improve their communication skills. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of speech and language disorders and the ability to implement evidence-based strategies and interventions to support students' development.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct assessments to identify students with speech, language, and communication needs

- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to support students' communication development

- Provide direct therapy and support to students both individually and in small groups

- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to integrate speech and language support into the curriculum

- Monitor students' progress and adjust intervention plans as needed

- Provide training and support to school staff and parents on strategies to support students with SLCN

Requirements:

- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or a related field

- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

- Experience working as a Speech and Language Specialist in an educational setting

- Strong understanding of speech and language disorders and evidence-based intervention strategies

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
