Specification Technologist

Direct Response Employment Services are recruiting for a Specification Technologist to join our established client in Frome on a permanent basis.

As a Specification Technologist you will be joining a family owed business who are financially strong and offer their employees a great working environment.

About the role:

* Complete product specifications, external and internal, using customer portals where required

* Compile any additional information to be attached to specifications, risk assessment, nutrition, micro, packaging, etc

* Artwork checks

* Attend project meetings to then liaise with the rest of the department

* Supplier approval of new and existing raw material

* Upkeep of supplier raw material database, risk assessments, VACCP TACCP

* Member of the VACCP /TACCP team

* Complete and manage the export documentation

The Ideal Candidate:

* Must have previous experience of writing specifications.

* Have had previous experience working within a food manufacturing or food service environment and have sound working knowledge of Food Law including, allergen management and legal labelling requirements for different types of food and drink products.

* Understand the supplier approval process, specifications and have managed supplier databases. Supplier approval knowledge would be preferred.

* Retailer specification knowledge is desirable.

* Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30am - 17:30pm

* Salary between £30,000 - £35,000 DOE
