Specialist SEND Tutor - Denbighshire
Location: Denbighshire, North Wales
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: October 2026
Duration: Ongoing
Prospero Teaching is looking for a compassionate and experienced Specialist SEND Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 tuition to learners across Denbighshire. The successful candidate will support pupils with complex needs, encourage engagement and deliver personalised learning that helps each learner work towards their individual goals.
The Role:
Plan and deliver individualised tuition based on learners needs.
Support pupils with SEND, complex needs and barriers to education.
Adapt resources and teaching strategies to promote participation.
Develop positive relationships and encourage confidence and independence.
Set achievable learning targets and monitor progress.
Provide feedback on learner development and ongoing support needs.
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience working with students with complex needs.
Experience supporting SEND or disengaged pupils.
UK classroom teaching experience.
A creative, patient approach and willingness to think outside the box.
To be eligible for this role, the Specialist SEND Tutor must:
Hold the right to work in the UK.
Hold an enhanced DBS including the child barred list, ideally on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain the required clearance.
Provide two professional references, including relevant child-related references.
