Description:

Teaching Personnel are working with a mainstream primary school in the OL6 area that are seeking a dedicated, resilient, and enthusiastic SEND Specialist Support Assistant to join their SEND Hub.

This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including autism, speech and language needs, social communication difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND within our specialist SEND Hub and mainstream classrooms.
Deliver structured interventions and personalised learning activities under the guidance of the SENDCo and teaching staff.
Support pupils to develop social, emotional, communication, and independence skills.
Implement behaviour support strategies consistently and effectively.
Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to review meetings as required.
Promote an inclusive environment where all pupils feel safe, valued, and supported.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

Experience working with children with SEND, preferably within a primary school setting.
A strong understanding of a range of additional needs and effective support strategies.
Excellent behaviour management skills and the confidence to support pupils who may present with challenging behaviour.
The ability to remain calm, patient, and solution-focused in demanding situations.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting learning and wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
