Specialist Regeneration Procurement & Contract Specialist (Purchasing) - Fulltime – FTC until December 2024 – Grimsby
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organisation in Grimsby as a Specialist Regeneration Procurement & Contract Specialist. Although this post is a fixed-term contract, the client always works hard to retain the best talent.
Purpose of the Specialist Regeneration Procurement & Contract Specialist role:
To collaborate with the Transformation Unit to support our client's project management office by delivering high-quality and cost-effective procurement and contract management.
Responsibilities of the Specialist Regeneration Procurement & Contract Specialist will include but are not limited to:
* Oversee procurement activities for complex regeneration projects
* Handle all procurement and contract management aspects related to regeneration projects, considering legal and commercial implications of decisions and recommendations
* Offer expert procurement and contract management guidance to the project management office
* Lead the development and implementation of strong contract management and monitoring systems, providing assurance reports to senior managers and elected members as needed
* Foster excellent working relationships with the Project Management Office and Transformation Units,
* Collaborate with the Project Management Office to understand the current market
* Advise and support the Project Management Office in developing procurement specifications and throughout the procurement process, including handling supplier questions and evaluating tenders
* Support the Project Management Office in managing contracts effectively, ensuring they meet specified performance and outcomes within budget
* Clearly define requirements and establish appropriate performance measures and outcomes as part of the procurement and contract management process
* Assist the Strategic Procurement and Contract Management Lead in promoting and embedding internal and external
* Perform additional duties as may be reasonably expected at this level
The Perfect Specialist Regeneration Procurement & Contract Specialist will be:
* Experienced working across diverse services
* Previous experience in a Procurement / Purchasing role
* Experienced in leading multiple, intricate "works" and "consultancy" tender processes
* Experienced in contract management and monitoring key performance indicators
* Possess substantial relevant experience in procurement, including tendering, negotiation, and contract management
* Experienced in purchasing and supply chain management
* Experience in advising and influencing senior leaders on procurement and contract management issues
* Managed procurement and contracts administration under EU-funded contracts or agreements (desirable)
* Knowledge of the latest purchasing requirements and techniques
* Knowledge of electronic tendering
* Market knowledge and awareness of intelligent tools
