Adjudicator

Contract for working arrangements read spec.
£43.75 per hour
Our client is looking for an experienced Adjudicator
This is a remote working role - to be paid at two levels.
The higher rate of salary is £62.50 per hour for adjudication work
The lower rate for other work is £43.75 per hour. Work to be done as and when required, not regular every week
To provide an adjudication service to the National Trading Standards Estate Agency Team, making determinations in cases where a notice of proposal has been served under the Estate Agents Act 1979.
1. To receive case files from the team and arrange and hear oral representations from a person (if requested) where it is proposed that a formal Warning Order, Prohibition Order (or hybrid Order) be served.
2. To consider the file including any written and oral representations and provide a reasoned determination as to whether the person is considered to be unfit to engage in estate agency work, or to comment on the appropriateness to issue a warning order.
3. To maintain an �ethical wall� between the investigation, adjudication and decision-making functions to ensure fairness in the determination process.
4. To work with the senior manager to review and update the adjudication process on an ongoing basis.
5. To maintain competency and compliance with mandatory training requirements and keep up to date with relevant developments.
6. To maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in the adjudication process.

About You:
* You will have significant experience of working in an adjudication or arbitration role.
* You will have experience of the UK legal system and the functions of Tribunals.
* You will have an understanding of the role and function of local authority enforcement policies and practices.
What you will do:
You will provide an adjudication service to the National Trading Standards Estate Agency Team, making determinations in cases where a notice of proposal has been served under the Estate Agents Act 1979. This will include managing the determination stage of the proceedings and hearing oral representations where required.
You will assist the team in providing advice and guidance on the adjudication process and ensure that relevant legal and ethical procedures are being followed.
