As a study skills tutor you will be supporting students within the Birmingham area who have learning difficulties.

Responsibilities:

Provide tailored one-to-one support with students you have been assigned to based on their specific learning difficulties
Assist students with organisational skills such as, time management, creating action plans to work towards deadlines
Help with their research skills by assisting them to access ranges of resources
Provide help with writing skills, how to structure their work
Encourage students to build on existing strengths so they are able to develop on their independence
Behave in a confidential and professional manner at all time with students
Work closely with Randstad and ensure any concerns regarding students are communicated immediately

Requirements:

Holds a degree

AND

Teaching Certificate / Qualification

AND

Six National Autistic Society (NAS) online training modules

Understanding autism
Autism and communication
Autism and sensory experience
Autism, stress and anxiety
Autism: supporting families
Autism and Girls

Desirable

Organisational skills - to be able to manage your workload of multiple students to support
Be reliable and punctual
Accurate spelling and grammar skills
Understandable and patient when working with students
Have an understanding on how to use platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc
Be empathetic and adaptive
