The vacancy

DN Colleges are recruiting a proactive Specialist Health & Safety Officer - Fire & Assurance. In this role, you will be leading fire safety, emergency precautions, and compliance across our College Group. This vacancy is full-time, and will be across our sites (Doncaster, Scunthorpe & Hull).

Specialist Responsibilities:

* Be the central point of contact and advisor within the group to consult on fire safety.

* Perform comprehensive fire risk and DSEAR assessments.

* Conduct fire safety and health and safety inspections and audits.

* Develop, maintain, and review evacuation/invacuation procedures.

* Develop and deliver fire safety training for students and staff.

* Maintain an expert knowledge on the legislative and good practice standards.

General Responsibilities: Conduct environmental monitoring such as noise measurement, participate in first aid and incident response teams, support business continuity and contractor management. analyse data for reports and identify preventative measures, building cross-functional relationships to help deliver our strategic objectives.

Essential Criteria:

* NEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management Certificate (or equivalent)

* Experience in a fire safety role.

* Knowledge of statutory compliance and risk assessment.

* Strong communication and training skills.

* Ability to analyse data for reporting and trend analysis.

* GCSE Maths & English, ICT Level 2.

A NEBOSH (General Certificate) is desirable but not essential for this role.
