Special Projects Contract Manager – Building Safety

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Special Projects Contract Manager to join a leading housing organisation in London on a 12-month contract.
This is a key role leading the delivery of high-risk, safety-critical contracts relating to External Wall Systems (EWS) across a large residential portfolio. You will oversee investigative works, manage complex contractor relationships, support remediation programmes, and ensure compliance with building safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage contracts delivering FRAEWs, Fire Risk Assessments, façade and spandrel panel investigations.
* Lead procurement exercises from specification development through to contract award and mobilisation.
* Monitor contractor performance, programme delivery, and budget management.
* Support Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS) funding applications and compliance requirements.
* Work closely with legal teams on claims relating to defective external wall systems.
* Provide updates and advice to senior stakeholders, residents, consultants, and contractors.
Requirements:
* Extensive contract management experience within construction, housing, asset management, or building safety.
* Strong knowledge of external wall systems, fire safety regulations, and PAS 9980.
* Experience managing complex, high-value projects and contracts.
* Proven procurement, commercial, financial, and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience with remediation funding schemes such as CSS or Building Safety Fund is highly desirable.
Rate: £450.00 per day Umbrella
