Exciting Opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Join us as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant at a welcoming SEND school located in Leeds. Starting this September or sooner if possible, you'll work alongside dedicated educators, shaping the learning journey for all students.

We are looking for a TA with experience in supporting learners with additional needs such as Autism. Familiarity with the national Key Stage Curriculum, an understanding of child development and learning, excellent communication skills, adaptability, empathy, and dedication to promoting equal opportunities are the key qualities we seek in a TA.

You will be supporting students who special educational needs, all children have an autism diagnosis as well as other additional learning needs. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, calm and positive, able to create an engaging and inspiring environment for learning.

Responsibilities of the role include:

Ensuring student safety and facilitating access to learning activities.
Contributing to education and behaviour plans.
Encouraging inclusivity and embracing diversity.
Setting high expectations for student achievement.
Providing feedback on student progress.
Upholding child protection policies.
Assisting with supervision outside of class.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Previous experience in teaching support.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Right to work in the UK.
