Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary
Salary: £100-£115 per day (dependent on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

About the School

We are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Prestwich area, seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Assistant from September 2026.

With a strong focus on wellbeing, pastoral care, and tailored support, the school prides itself on fostering positive relationships and ensuring every student feels valued.

The Role

As a Special Needs Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and develop both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs (SEN)
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development
Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies
Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a structured learning environment
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN (desirable)
Demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
Be confident supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
Show a proactive and flexible approach to supporting student needs
Work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships

Eligibility Requirements:

Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
