Are you passionate about suppoting learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties?

A specialist built school based in Haywards Heath is looking for a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join the team now! You will support pupils with special educational needs (SEN), including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Through this Special Needs Teaching Assistant role you will gain excellent practical experience with SEN pupils in a relevant field, before you take your next step. This role in Haywards Heath will give you experience working with vulnerable pupils, increasing their engagement, attainment and life chances. So, if you are a graduate wanting to pursue a career in Child/Education Psychology, are an Aspiring Clinical Psychologist, or have been thinking about Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language, then this role is for you!

Learners with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) have complex learning needs. In additon to their sevre learning difficulties, they may have other significant difficulties, such as physical disabilities, sensory impairment or a sevre medical condition. These learners require a high level of adult support for their learning needs and are liekly to need sensory stimulation and a cirriculum broken down into very small steps.

You will be instrumental in providing consistency, and equipping children and young people with tools to ensure they feel safe, secure, empowered, and believe that they can succeed in life.

Person Specification

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
Approachable, and able to build robust and effective relationships with students
Able to remain calm and resilient when placed in situations of stress or conflict
High levels of empathy, caring, compassionate, and a good listener
Motivated and enthusiastic, with a professional approach to work
Provided personal care when needed
Able to commute to Haywards Heath
**October start, trial days taking place to ensure the role and school is right for you
**Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students
**£93-£105 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, term time only
**No previous experience is required
