Seeking a Dedicated and Compassionate Special Educational Needs Teacher - Autism specialism!

Tradewind are working with an inclusive and vibrant specialist primary school in Birmingham with over 170 pupils on roll. All of the children who attend have a Statement of Special Educational Need or an Education and Health Care Plan. The school educates pupils who have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

We are looking for a Class teacher who is experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated. The school has high standards of teaching and learning and is committed to ensuring that all pupils achieve their full potential. This is a full-time role to start from September.

Responsibilities:

Create engaging and accessible learning activities that promote cognitive, social, and physical development.

Utilise specialised instructional strategies and assistive technologies to support communication, mobility, and sensory integration.

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, caregivers, and support staff, to ensure holistic care and education for students.

Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore and learn at their own pace.

Requirements:

QTS or equivalent

Specialisation or certification in teaching students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Proven experience working with students with ASD in an educational setting.

Strong understanding of ASD characteristics, communication methods, and sensory needs.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with complex needs.

Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
