Secondary SEN Maths Teacher
Leicester | £180–£220 per day | Full-Time / Flexible Opportunities
Are you a Maths specialist with experience supporting pupils with additional needs?
TeacherActive is working with specialist schools and alternative provisions in Leicester who are looking for confident and adaptable Secondary SEN Maths Teachers. This is a great opportunity for someone who can combine strong subject knowledge with a calm, patient and flexible approach.
You’ll be working with secondary-aged pupils who may have needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD or other additional learning needs, with some students working below age-related expectations.
The role may include:
Teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4
Delivering Functional Skills and Entry Level Maths where required
Adapting lessons to individual learning needs
Supporting pupils with SEND and behavioural needs
Creating a calm, structured and engaging classroom environment
Tracking progress and providing clear feedback
Working closely with Teaching Assistants and wider support teams
Using creative approaches to re-engage pupils with learning
We are looking for:
QTS or a recognised teaching qualification
Strong Maths subject knowledge
Experience teaching secondary-aged pupils
SEN, SEMH or alternative provision experience desirable
Confident behaviour management
A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
Ability to differentiate work for a wide range of abilities
