TeacherActive are looking for a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Teaching Assistant/ SEND TA to work in a fantastic school in Newark on Trent. The ideal Teaching Assistant will need to have experience working with children with various special educational needs. 1:1 and in a group setting. This is a great chance to gain an abundance of experience to add to your CPD and keep everyday exciting.
The ideal Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant/ SEND TA should have the following:
At least Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months experience in an educational establishment.
Experience working with children with special educational needs in a 1:1 setting.
A calm, patient and caring personality.
Good communication skills.
A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
A valid UK driving license (preferred not essential)
The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.
All applicants must be NVQ Level 3 qualified and have a minimum of 6 months experience working with children with SEND / Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You will need to feel confident within a classroom environment and be able to take direction from a class teacher.

If you have experience working with children who are diagnosed with Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, PMLD / Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties, SEMH /Social Emotional Mental Health, EBD / Emotional Behavioural Difficulties, or ADD / Attention Deficit Disorder then it’s highly likely we will be able to find a rewarding role for you.
