Milk Education are partnered with a Special school in Leeds who have asked for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. The school prides itself in diversity and the wellbeing of their students.

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) you will work closely with teachers to support the delivery of high-quality education to students, but also work closely with children who need ongoing support for their learning. The ideal candidate will be successful at forming positive relationships with staff and pupils in a diverse and positive environment whilst facilitating children to flourish within all areas of the curriculum and have previous experience supporting pupils with SEND needs in an educational setting.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Job Duties:

* Assisting with children’s learning and engaging in lessons
* Supporting individual and small groups of students in their learning
* Assisting and supporting the needs of SEN children
* Supervising students during lessons and break times
* Carrying out general classroom duties to support the Teacher

Required Qualifications:

* Recognised TA qualification
* Enhanced DBS check

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

* Experience working in a classroom setting
* Experience working with SEND children
* Strong behaviour management skills
* Inspirational and highly effective in the classroom
* Creative and dynamic
* Patient and resilient
* Good understanding of the national curriculum
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills in relation to those with SEN
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

* First Aid certification
* Additional relevant teaching assistant qualifications
