Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting and developing our provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will lead the SEN department, ensuring that all pupils with SEND receive the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the school's SEN provision, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.
Develop and implement effective SEN policies and procedures.
Coordinate and oversee the identification, assessment, and support of students with SEND.
Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to create and maintain tailored Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEND, adjusting support strategies as necessary.
Provide training and guidance to staff on inclusive teaching practices and SEN strategies.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of SEN students and their progress.
Liaise with external agencies, including educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and local authorities, to secure additional support for students as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a recognised SENCO qualification or a willingness to work towards one.
Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and other relevant legislation.
Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of best practices in SEND.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
