Perfect Recruitment are working with a well-established countryside hotel in the Durham area, currently looking for a strong Sous Chef to join their kitchen team.

This is a high-volume operation covering restaurant service, functions, events, and hotel dining, so you’ll need to be confident working across multiple areas while maintaining calm, consistent delivery.

The role:

You’ll work closely with the Executive Chef, taking a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You’ll help lead the team, support junior chefs, maintain standards, and ensure consistent quality across all sections.

* Strong fresh food background

* Experience in hotel, restaurant, or banqueting kitchens

* Confident leading a team during service

* Calm, organised, and hands-on approach

* Strong focus on food quality, consistency, and standards

* Good understanding of food safety, allergens, and compliance

* Natural leader who supports and develops junior chefs

* Motivated by being part of a kitchen that is developing and progressing
