£15.60 per hour | Full-Time | Permanent
PPM Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Sous Chef to join a professional catering operation in Royston.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and motivated chef looking for a permanent position, supporting the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in delivering high-quality food and maintaining excellent kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals to a consistently high standard.
Assist with menu planning, food preparation and stock control.
Supervise and support junior kitchen staff when required.
Ensure food is prepared and served on time.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety.
Ensure the kitchen is kept clean, organised and safe.
Monitor food storage, stock rotation and wastage.
Follow company procedures and food safety regulations.
Work collaboratively with the wider catering team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
Strong cooking skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety standards.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy kitchen.
A positive attitude and a passion for producing quality food.
A reliable, flexible and hands-on approach to work.
