Sous Chef
Pay: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours p/w
Location: Oxford
Are you an experienced chef looking for your next opportunity? We're recruiting on behalf of an established and prestigious educational establishment in Oxford is seeking a Sous Chef to join its Catering department.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to deliver high-quality food and excellent customer service.
Duties include:
Assist the Head Chef with the daily running of the kitchen.
Prepare and produce high-quality food to internal standards.
Supervise and support chefs, kitchen porters and trainees.
Assist with menus, ordering, costings and food preparation.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, HACCP and health & safety.
Monitor food quality, portion control and wastage.
Deputise for the Head Chef when required.
What we're looking for:
Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Second Chef or similar.
Good knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP and allergen control.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative.
Professional, positive and flexible approach.
