As a Barclays Solution Architect, you’ll be the technology expert entrusted to realise the businesses aspirations as they drive their product strategy forward. What will you be doing?

•    Demonstrating leadership qualities and being able to influence project /programme stakeholders
•    Being responsible for taking ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you do
•    Championing new initiatives within own scope
•    Engaging with all levels of stakeholders as you define, evolve and deliver your architecture vision
•    Collaborating with the design authority for a project and acting as architecture sign-off for project level component deliverables 
•    Being responsible for ensuing governance, risk and control procedures are followed
 
What we’re looking for:

•    Proven expertise in architecting modern distributed systems
•    Effective influencing skills and being able to solve difficult problems whilst making complex architecture trade-offs
•    Experience in creating transitional architectures that leverage heritage systems
•    Ability to be hands-on and lead by example, can deliver artifacts that set the standard across solutions, architecture, designs, engineering

 
Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Functional/Domain experience in financial services Banking/Cards/Loans
•    Ability to manage technical product selection process, scope & execute Tech spikes/PoCs. 
•    Hands-on experience in architecting systems that operate within public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) 
•    Hands-on experience in modernising existing Technology stacks

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke Hall, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our Tech Command Centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64-acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
