As a Barclays Solution Architect, you will be creating technology and data solutions to meet the business requirements. You will work extensively with various stakeholders including product managers and delivery teams. Further to this, you will be accountable for ensuring that the outcomes delivered by projects are consistent with the original solution.

What will you be doing?
•    Creating end to end solutions across applications and data that meet business requirements in line with quality standards and policies
•    Comprehending the needs of stakeholders and ensuring that technology strategies and solution designs meet their short and long term goals  
•    Prioritising the role of data within any new solution and demonstrating how the solution simplifies the delivery of data to consumers, providing an excellent user experience
•    Driving greater standardisation and simplification into our data estate to accelerate the delivery of new data solutions
•    Accelerating our journey to Cloud (internal and external public cloud) and our strategic Data Platform
•    Assisting the Director of Architecture in providing advice and guidance to business stakeholders in shaping the portfolio of technology solutions

What we’re looking for:

•    Excellent written and verbal communication along with the 
•    Sound knowledge of integration and implementation challenges and their architectural implications
•    Best practice architectural and design methodologies
•    A passion for comprehending emerging technologies and their potential applications within Barclays

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    A working knowledge of the key challenges delivering technology solutions in a regulated environment
•    Broad and solid grasp of the concepts and roles behind service delivery and systems support
•    Solid grasp of different project methodologies, project lifecycles, major phases, dependencies and milestones within a project
•    Knowledge of Consumer Credit Risk or related financial areas (e.g. Liquidity, Market Risk) 

Where will you be working?

Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff. The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
