Site Manager - 33kV Grid Connection / Solar Farm Project

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of ICP works associated with a 33kV grid connection for a major solar farm project.

Acting on behalf of the Principal Contractor, you will be responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of all civils and electrical installation activities associated with the HV connection works. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Site Manager with a strong background in utility infrastructure, HV cable installations, ICP connections or renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all day-to-day site activities across the project.
Coordinate civils and electrical subcontractors.
Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
Lead site inductions, briefings and toolbox talks.
Monitor productivity and resource levels.
Manage interfaces between multiple contractors and stakeholders.
Undertake site inspections, audits and safety reviews.
Ensure RAMS, permits and safe systems of work are implemented.
Oversee delivery of cable route excavations, joint bays, ducting, earthing systems, reinstatement and associated civils works.
Coordinate 33kV cable installation, jointing, terminations, switchgear installation and commissioning activities.
Provide regular progress updates to the project team.
Support quality assurance, inspections, defect management and project handover.

Essential Requirements

SMSTS
CSCS Card (Supervisor or Manager level)
First Aid at Work
HSG47 - Avoiding Danger from Underground Services
Full UK Driving Licence

Essential Experience

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Manager.
Proven delivery of 11kV and/or 33kV infrastructure projects.
Experience managing ICP connection works.
Background delivering solar farm, utility infrastructure or HV electrical projects.
Experience managing excavations, cable routes, ducting installations, joint bays and earthing systems.
Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, Electricity at Work Regulations and permit-to-work systems.
Experience working under Principal Contractor arrangements.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a safety-led Site Manager with a strong understanding of HV infrastructure and utility construction. You will possess excellent leadership skills, be confident managing multiple subcontractors and stakeholders, and have the ability to drive programme performance whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.
