O&M Engineer – Solar / Renewables

Midlands Based | £45,000+ DOE | Company Van + Fuel Card
 
Permanent, Full-Time | Hybrid
We’re currently recruiting for an experienced O&M Engineer to join an established business operating within the solar and renewable energy sector.
This is a hands-on role involving the maintenance, troubleshooting and optimisation of solar energy systems across a range of sites. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently on-site, while also supporting wider maintenance and asset performance activities remotely.

What's involved?

Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance on solar energy systems

Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and technical faults

Supporting the ongoing performance and reliability of solar assets

Carrying out electrical maintenance and engineering tasks

Working with clients and internal teams to resolve technical issues

Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant standards

Maintaining accurate records and documentation

Supporting long-term asset optimisation and performance improvements

Travelling to solar park sites across the Midlands and surrounding areas

What we're looking for

Previous experience in O&M, electrical engineering or renewable energy

Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills

Good understanding of single and three-phase electrical systems

Experience with preventative maintenance and maintenance management

17th or 18th Edition

2391 or equivalent would be advantageous

Renewable energy qualifications/experience would be beneficial

Strong communication and organisational skills

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites

Package

Salary from £45,000, depending on experience

Ideally based in or around Leicester, Northampton, Evesham or surrounding areas, giving good access to sites across the Midlands and wider region.
