Job Title: Solar PV Maintenance Electrician
Salary: 40k - 42k + Company Vehicle + Training + Benefits
Location: Home Based/Field Based Across Reading & Surrounding areas

If you're an experienced electrician with a passion for renewable energy, this is your opportunity to join a true market leader that has been delivering innovative clean energy solutions for over 20 years. You'll work on commercial solar PV systems that power schools, public buildings and organisations, solving technical challenges, preventing downtime and making a genuine environmental impact every day.

This is more than a maintenance role. It's an opportunity to build your expertise across solar PV, battery storage and EV charging infrastructure while enjoying the flexibility of home based working and the support of an experienced technical team.

Why this role

You'll take ownership of planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, inspection, testing and repairs across a diverse portfolio of commercial solar PV installations. Working independently at customer sites throughout the South of England, you'll ensure renewable energy systems remain safe, compliant and performing at their best. As your experience grows, you'll receive specialist training in battery storage and EV charging technologies, giving you the opportunity to broaden your expertise within one of the UK's fastest growing industries.

About the company

Our client is a true market leader in the renewable energy sector, with more than 20 years of experience delivering commercial solar PV, battery storage and EV charging infrastructure across the UK. They have built an outstanding reputation for technical excellence, long term customer partnerships and delivering high quality renewable energy solutions for businesses, public sector organisations and community energy projects. Continued investment in innovation and the development of their people has positioned them at the forefront of the industry.

About you

You'll be a qualified electrician holding a recognised Level 3 electrical qualification and current 18th Edition certification, with practical experience installing, commissioning or maintaining commercial solar PV systems. You'll be confident carrying out electrical fault finding, inspection and testing across AC and DC systems, interpreting technical drawings and producing accurate maintenance reports.

You'll enjoy working independently, have a professional approach when dealing with customers and be willing to travel throughout the South of England. Additional qualifications such as Inspection and Testing, ECS Gold Card, Solar PV certification or experience with battery storage, EV charging infrastructure, inverter diagnostics or monitoring platforms would be advantageous but are not essential.

Rewards and growth

In return, you'll receive a competitive salary, company vehicle, tools, specialist test equipment, uniform and PPE, together with ongoing manufacturer led technical training. You'll benefit from structured professional development, exposure to a wide range of renewable energy technologies and the opportunity to build a long term career with one of the UK's leading renewable energy businesses
