Solar Field Service Technician

Description:

Astute's Renewable Team is partnering with a global energy service provider, specializing in operation & maintenance for renewable technology to recruit a Solar Farm Technician for its portfolio of solar farms around the Yeovil area.

This permanent role is fully on site and will require travel a variety of solar sites, and offers a base salary up to £45,000 plus private healthcare, life assurance, and performance related bonus'.

Responsibilities of the Solar Farm Technician:

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will:

· Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of ground-mounted solar assets.

· Test and inspect electrical systems, identifying faults and carrying out repairs where possible.

· Liaise with specialist equipment suppliers to troubleshoot technical issues on site.

· Complete daily reports detailing work carried out and site activities.

· Perform fault finding on both AC and DC systems.

· Ensure all work is completed in line with current HSE legislation and company procedures.

· Supervise third-party contractors on site when required.

· Participate in an occasional weekend call-out rota, with additional payment.

· Undertake occasional travel and overnight stays as required.

Required qualifications and experience

To be considered, you must have:

· Previous experience working on utility-scale solar projects.

· Level 3 electrical qualification.

· ECS card

· Good working knowledge of industry-standard testing equipment and electrical instruments.

Desirable experience

It would be an advantage, but is not essential, to have:

· 2391 Test & Inspection qualification is desirable.

· HV Authorised Person (AP) status is desirable.

Salary and benefits

£35,000 - £45,000 salary, depending on experience.
