Our client is a Renewable Technologies company dealing with Solar PV and Electric Vehicle Charging Points. Our focus is on reducing energy bills and providing a green and sustainable future for generations to come, built on a combined experience of over 20 years in solar PV (Photovoltaic) and renewable energies. We have an impressive portfolio of project’s ranging from blue chip clients through to premiership football stadiums.

We strive to work “Everyway Efficient” in cost and process, creating solutions to offer more control back to the client, from initial design and survey all the way through to aftercare and maintenance.

We are currently looking for energetic and confident Solar Design Engineer to join our growing team in the renewable energy market.

Role Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our fast-growing company for someone who has a passion for shaping the future of sustainable energy solutions. We're seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Solar PV Design Engineer. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our Project Managers, contributing to the design and development of cutting-edge solar PV and EV systems for commercial applications.

Based at our office in Rochester, you will be involved in the day-to-day management of solar PV installations across the country, working as part of an existing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to head up the design team and train junior designers along the way, you will be part of a leading renewable company that look after their staff and progress the right candidates to self-develop and play a vital role in the success of the business.

The Role

- Collaborate on initial designs and layouts with cross-functional teams.

- Utilise industry-standard software for solar PV system modelling and simulation.

- Assist in creating technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.

- Conduct shading analysis and system sizing for optimized solar PV designs.

- Assist in project management tasks and liaise with suppliers, contractors, and clients.

- Participate in on-site visits during installation to ensure design implementation.

- Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulations.

- Contribute to continuous improvement in design processes.

Skills and Experience

- Hold a degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.

- Demonstrate a strong commitment to renewable energy and sustainability.

- Possess familiarity with solar PV and EV technologies and design principles.

- Proficiency in design software e.g. PVsol and SolarEdge Designer.

- Essential AutoCAD proficiency. - Basic comprehension of electrical systems.

- Effective communication skills for collaborative teamwork and client interaction.

- Meticulous attention to detail and capable of managing multiple projects.

- Adaptability to a fast-paced learning environment.
