The Company:
My client are a well-established and highly respected B2B technology company who are experiencing another sustained period of growth across the business. I am looking for a driven Software Tester join their expert Software Development team.
The Role:
As a Software Tester you are responsible for the testing and quality assurance of the client's range of software products. Your extensive product knowledge will make you a point of reference for other team members and you will become a key member of the Development team. You must have strong testing skills, be hard working and be able to fit in well with an established team.
The is a hybrid role with lots of flexibility to allow you to choose the environment that works best for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Understand the industry requirements of the customer base and develop a thorough understanding of how those requirements are met by the product range.
Test modifications to products to ensure they are fit for purpose, consistent, and compliant with published standards and guidelines. You will ensure modifications are fully regression testable and delivered on schedule.
Complete testing in line with agreed timeframes and by following the documented business processes using the appropriate test management and automation tools.
Promote and advocate best practices within the team and throughout the business.
Translate functional requirements and specifications into documented test plans, cases and steps.
Rigorously planning, writing, and executing test scripts.
Creation and maintenance of test data, tools, and scripts.
Conduct functional and non-functional testing, including exploratory testing.
Perform manual regression testing.
Identifying issues, risks and dependencies escalating and managing where appropriate.
Logging and retesting of issues.
Continually update skills by learning new technologies relevant to the role.
Evaluate testing tools.
Skills & Experience required:
Proven experience working as a Software Tester / Test Analyst ideally within a software house environment.
Experience testing client server (Window) and Web applications (ideally in a .Net-based environment).
Practical and systematic approach to testing.
Experience with test automation frameworks, including code-based automation is desirable but not essential.
Any exposure to Microsoft Test Manager or the ability to write simple SQL scripts to create and manipulate data would also be great.
