Software Technical Lead
Location: Chesterfield
Rate: up to £60/hr - outside IR35.
Our client is a leading engineering and maintenance provider, supporting customers across the chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables and food & beverage markets. They enhance the efficiency of assets, ensuring a high level of availability and reducing maintenance costs.
They are looking for a Software Technical Lead to provide technical support and guidance to the Software Engineering Team, ensuring smooth project progress in line with the agreed programme.
Main Responsibilities
* Overall technical and engineering Software Team leadership
* Working closely with and supporting the Software Project Manager in all aspects of technical delivery and scope management
* Lead the technical and quality requirements for the Software Team
* Technical support during integrated system testing, CFAT and SAT
* Review of documents created by the project team
* Ensure project adherence to company quality processes and procedures
* Detailed task and procurement list development and leadership
* Monitoring progress of activities being progressed by the Software Team
* Identification of project opportunities and variations
* Support the Project Manager in identifying and managing risks and issues
* Support the Project Manager in the project delivery strategy development and planning
* Identification of deviations from agreed functionality or scope and notify Project Manager
* Training planning and support
* Mentoring of Engineers
* Provide Health and Safety leadership by example
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
* Strong experience of system specification through design, development and testing
* In depth knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC's and WinCC SCADA systems
* Experience leading a team with a strong focus on programme adherence
* A good appreciation of control panels, electrical installation and Instrumentation solutions
* A Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Control Systems or relevant discipline
